Modern Combat Versus worth playing 2022?
Whether you're a casual or a hardcore gamer, Modern Combat Versus will be a great first-person shooter multiplayer online mobile game to play in 2022.
The game is the sixth title in the mobile Modern Combat series and it was developed by Gameloft Montreal. This mobile game was launched already in 2017 so it is a fairly old mobile game at the moment but it is a game that is still supported by the developer which is noticeable because it still gets updates after almost five years. Of which the latest update was released in 2021.
Modern Combat Versus has a layout that is a mixture of Call of Duty, Overwatch and Valorant.
Each multiplayer battle takes place between two teams of four players, and the goal is to capture and hold a central area and kill all opponents that come in your way.
The game system is very simplified to give the player streamlined action without disturbing elements. The firearms are fired automatically when aimed at an enemy, but if you want to aim, you double-tap on the right side of your smartphone's display.
Unfortunately, there are no ways to jump or crouch in the game so all your chosen game character can do is run in the direction you steer it. Each track has at least two zones where you can run on the wall, which is indicated by a row of flashing arrows. To do so, you just have to direct your character towards the wall with flashing arrows and the action is performed automatically.
You can reload weapons by clicking on the reload icon in the lower right corner of the display. Your agent will also automatically reload when the magazine is empty.
Each agent has different looks and properties, as well as a unique ability to activate when needed. Some examples of special character traits are protective energy shields, detection sensors, extra equipment and so on. Each agent can activate their ability by pressing a button in the middle of the screen, which increases their chances of battle.
The game unlocks agents from a list of twenty-three agents and after they have been unlocked you can freely choose which character you want to use during a match after each game round you earn experience points, game money and the now inevitable loot chests. The rewards can be used to upgrade and eventually unlock new characters to play with. Unlocking characters takes a long time.
In other words, you do not get direct access to everything in Modern Combat Versus and that is a bit of a disadvantage, although it is not very unusual when it comes to mobile games.
You can create or join a clan to get in touch with players from all over the world.
The gunfire feels quite heavy and satisfying, although it may take too many shots to kill an opponent for my liking. It can take an entire magazine to make an opponent fall, which serves to make the game feel combative and boring. Especially in the beginning when you have not had time to play, the characters are weak both in terms of health and weapons. How powerful the weapons are and how durable the game characters are is affected by the points you earn while playing Modern Combat Versus. It simply takes a lot of grinding for you to finally have a more enjoyable experience when you play.
When the game was first launched in 2017, the player was always encouraged to spend real money to speed things up. Among other things, new characters were possible to buy and they were expensive. The layout itself was quite distasteful actually. But now in 2022 after many much-needed updates, that type of transaction has been removed and it has in one fell swoop made Modern Combat Versus a much better mobile game.
Modern Combat Versus still performs very well and it is not noticeable that it is an old mobile game when you play it. The graphics are impressive and there are newer mobile games with significantly worse graphics.
Playing Modern Combat Versus now 2022 is a fantastic experience and the game is now finally as it should have been at the launch in 2017. It fits perfectly in situations when you have a short time left due to the fact that the battles are short and intense with a lot of adrenaline-filled action. Each round takes between ten and fifteen minutes.
This is one of the mobile games I myself most often return to. I play it for a while and then I stop playing for several months and then come back again.
I have sadly come to the conclusion that this game is about to die because the player base is very small. The active players do not seem to be that many and not many YouTubers are actually posting new game videos regarding the game nowadays. This is usually an indication that a game is no longer very popular.
Give it a try because the mechanics and graphics are still good. If more people start playing, awareness of the game increases and we avoid the servers being shut down forever.
